Collaborative Science and Research Projects

Collaborative Field Work

Our second small grants solicitation closed on 3/1/04 and resulted in 12 proposals of which four have been awarded funds.

The proposals and archived RFP's and awards can be accessed from the library.

Some other good examples of collaborative research projects funded by CBDA are the Delta Cross Channel Study and the Breach Studies. Each of these ongoing projects involves teams of scientists from multiple institutions (academic, private and non-profit) using their unique expertise to study a very complex system. Additionally the knowledge they gain from their research has direct implications on the management of the systems they study. To learn more about these studies, see the links below:

The complexity of the Bay-Delta system demands multidisciplinary studies. Different institutions each offer unique expertise and resources. By working together, these collaborators have produced a quality and quantity of science unattainable by people or institutions working alone, prevented the overlap of projects and resources, and are helping to convert scientific knowledge into optimal management practices.
