California State University, Hayward

California State University, Hayward is a multifaceted university featuring small classes, hands-on learning, an involved faculty, and a solid innovative curriculum. The university has a 342 acre park-like campus perched atop the Hayward hills and boasts a panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay Area. It also has the addition of the satellite Contra Costa Campus in Concord for upper-division and graduate instruction.

CSU Hayward is committed to educational excellence for a diverse society. Encouraging and advancing learning is its primary mission. This purpose is achieved by providing instruction for undergraduate and graduate students in the liberal arts and sciences and the professions, including business and teacher education.

Today Hayward has approximately 510 Full Time Faculty Equivalents, almost 10,000 undergraduates, and over 1200 graduate students distributed among four schools: The School of Arts, Letters and Social Science; the School of Business and Economics; the School of Education and Allied Studies; and the College of Science. The College of Science is comprised of 9 departments including Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology, Math and Computer Science, Nursing and Health Sciences, Physics, Psychology, and Statistics. The College of Science intends to utilize its affiliation with the San Francisco Bay-Delta Science Consortium to create valuable new educational opportunities for its students and faculty.
